Nice of them to visit, but will they stay awhile?

By Michael Morse | September 21, 2009

Will they stay awhile?
Turns out most visitors to legal websites only stay an average of two minutes.

So, how can you get people to take off their virtual coats and stay awhile?

  1. Fresh Content: if your content is unique, relevant and interesting your visitors will stay longer.
  2. Multi-Media: make your site more compelling by adding video, graphics, and audio to liven up the experience.
  3. Fast-load: pay attention to how fast your site loads. People no longer wait for loading pages or slow links
  4. Print: make your posts available for printing. While printing they’ll also browse around for other points of interest on your site.

These are just a few things you can do to not only increase the amount of time they’ll stay on your site but also make sure they’ll come back for more.  More tips can be found here.
